Teaching Philosophy

As an educator, I am committed to amplifying marginalized and underrepresented communities' voices, experiences, and knowledge. I recognize the difficulties in the classroom, including varying English abilities, writing anxieties, and communication styles. Through a collaborative and dialogic classroom, I encourage students to interrogate their presumed “common knowledge,” reimagine a different relationality, and envision an equitable future. Thus, my teaching philosophy emphasizes curiosity, self-reflectivity, and critical engagement. This philosophy has guided the courses I taught at the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University, Columbus.
